Porters Pass, Blue Mountains, oil on canvas, 20″ x 20″

I seek to capture poetic Nature, encapsulating a sense of place through my memory of the felt emotions of being there and resultant unconscious intuitions. I hope to instill in the viewer a sense of awe and a need to protect our amazing natural environments. My passion for detail is inherent in much of my work, where the whole is made up of so many wonderful parts. My lyricism of line accentuates the weirdness and beauty of our surrounding environs. richardrosebery.com

“The artist submits from day to day to the fatal rhythm of the impulses of the universal world which encloses him, continual centre of sensations, always pliant, hypnotized by the marvels of nature which he loves, he scrutinizes.” ~ Odilon Redon

Ruth Soller

Bluebird Sky Walden Pond, oil on canvas, 24" x 36"
Bluebird Sky Walden Pond, oil on canvas, 24″ x 36″

I am inspired to create nature inspired art by my faith that God created heavens, earth, minerals, plants, animals, and gave man dominion over all. The purpose of my life is to share my gift of communication through art to encourage others to value and preserve the beauty of our planet. Bluebird Sky Walden Pond depicts a perfectly glorious day at a wildlife preserve and bird habitat near my home where I enjoy plein air painting and sketching. ruthsoller.com

“A true conservationist is a man who knows that the world is not given by his fathers but borrowed from his children.” ~ John James Audubon

Cristina del Rosso

Eucalyptus, oil on canvas, 27'' x 27''
Eucalyptus, oil on canvas, 27” x 27”

In the contemplation of nature I find the necessary peace and motivation for my paintings. The immensity of the sky, the eternal presence of the rocks, the corners of the forests, the color of the flowers, the movement of the sea are inexhaustible source of inspiration. They reveal to us the mystery of life. I try to bring those emotions to the viewer, to make them dream, taking them to those places, and provoke those sensations when contemplating my works. cristinadelrosso.com

“And this, our life, exempt from public haunt, finds tongues in trees, books in the running brooks, sermons in stones, and good in everything.” ~ William Shakespeare

Marcella Rose

Essence of Grace, oil and gold leaf on canvas, 84" x 72"
Essence of Grace, oil and gold leaf on canvas, 84″ x 72″

My art reflects my connectedness to the divine essence within each and every form of life. I inhale inspiration, channeled through me by the Creator Herself, as the impetus within all my art. Wildlife, feminine shapes and elemental forms of energy expressed in rich layers of fluid mediums excite, surprise and comfort me. Through intuitive gestural strokes, I strive to emanate this sacred vibration — a vibration that viewers, through their own creative fire, innately react to, are warmed and inspired. marcellarose.com

“Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

Bren Sibilsky

Visionary, Call To Spirit, clay for bronze, 21" x 25" x 10"
Visionary, Call To Spirit, clay for bronze, 21″ x 25″ x 10″

I work with the alchemy of sculpture in the style of classical realism with emotional undertones. My art work is the reflection of my interests in nature and realism. “Visionary, Call to Spirit” is a healer who works with the natural world around him. Sculpted in the swirls of beads is the turtle and bear jaws, feathers and more. It is well for us to be in touch with the natural world. brensculpture.com

“Man’s heart away from nature becomes hard.” ~ Standing Bear

Mark Weller

Autumn Leaves Reflections, photography, 40” x 60”
Autumn Leaves Reflections, photography, 40” x 60”

The virtuosity of natural light is nature’s calling card. As an artist that uses a camera, I seek to document the euphoric illumination that the sun caresses upon nature in unexpected places and in unexpected ways. Like setting sunlight bouncing off golden autumn foliage and reflecting in a quiet Midwestern stream… or the radiance given off sand dune grasses the moment the morning sun clears the horizon. I am an artist that gives clarity to our grasp of nature. time-stacking.com

“Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower.” ~ Albert Camus

Sandra Belitza-Vazquez

Delightful, scanner photography, 16" x 24"
Delightful, scanner photography, 16″ x 24″

Nature is art, and as an artist, I choose from an endless array of subject matter to highlight the beauty I see there. I can discover a whole world in my backyard by looking closely and presenting my vision in artwork that awakens understanding and emotions like joy and pleasure and fosters a desire to conserve nature’s wondrous beauty for future generations. Nature is all around us, and I enable its discovery through my interpretive artwork. sandyscan.com

“We still do not know one thousandth of one percent of what nature has revealed to us.” ~ Albert Einstein

Daisy Crane

Found Myself in the Rocks, oil on panel, 18x24"
Found Myself in the Rocks, oil on panel, 18″ x 24″

My paintings are visual stories that question the ways we deny, adore, and/or ignore the materials that define our lives and futures. In the end, my paintings search for the beauty of creation, joy, reciprocity and balance even in the face of climate collapse. daisycrane.art

The ground we walk on, the plants and creatures, the clouds above constantly dissolving into new formations – each gift of nature possessing its own radiant energy, bound together by cosmic harmony. ~ Ruth Bernhard

Kelsey Worth

Lunar Symbiosis, watercolor, 10" x 13"
Lunar Symbiosis, watercolor, 10″ x 13″

The core focus of my work is animal and ocean conservation. As a San Diego resident, surrounded by the Pacific Ocean, aquariums, and SeaWorld, I am interested in learning about the world of water in my backyard. I continue to discover issues afflicting the ocean’s ecosystem, so I feel compelled to turn the themes of my art to activism. My intention is to give voice to endangered species and ecosystems using narrative art as a vehicle for change. kelseyworth.com

“In all things of Nature there is something of the marvelous” ~ Aristotle

Sandra Duran Wilson

Looking Up, acrylic on panel, 12"x6"
Looking Up, acrylic on panel, 12″ x 6″

I am an observer and interpreter of nature. Where do I fit in this Universe and how do my actions dance with all the elements of nature? These are the questions I follow daily as I walk in my garden and explore the mountain trails of my home. I can also become a time traveler as I gaze at the stars in the night sky. The light that reaches me in this cosmic display is from millennia past. sandraduranwilson.com

“Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts.” ~ Rachel Louise Carson

Barbara Brown

Dancing Yew Sisters, oil on canvas, 20" x 30"
Dancing Yew Sisters, oil on canvas, 20″ x 30″

It’s the Beauty of Nature that feeds my soul and opens my heart wide. A sense of wonder comes over me upon seeing a beautiful sight in the forest where I walk daily. It excites my fancy and ignites a passion within me to share what I am seeing that inspires me so — hoping others might be so moved when they set eyes on my painting. Hoping I can convey that feeling of reverence, that others may feel it too. barbarabrownart.com

“The clearest way into the Universe is through a forest wilderness.” ~ John Muir

Michael Kwong

Mickey's Frustration, acrylic on canvas, 31.5" x 31.5"
Mickey’s Frustration, acrylic on canvas, 31.5″ x 31.5″

This painting is called “Mickey’s Frustration” demonstrating the problem of air pollution and how its deadly consequence will damage the life of our next generation. Painting is just like a bridge for linking myself and the outside world together. I can express my attitude toward life, and my thoughts about things, and more importantly, I can interact with nature through my artwork. I want to use my painting to spread a positive power to people, and bring a better and prettier world to people through my paintings. michaelkwongart.wixsite.com/michaelkwong

“For most of history, man has had to fight nature to survive; in this century he is beginning to realize that, in order to survive, he must protect it.”  ~ Jacques-Yves Cousteau

Calm on the Inside, Augmented Reality, oil on canvas and animation, 16" x 12"
Calm on the Inside, Augmented Reality, oil on canvas and animation, 16″ x 12″

Sometimes the old days, we have more time to connect with the natures. God of Heaven sometimes does beauty, and when the wind and waves are calm, a fisherman sees the water and his heart is clear. Although he is sometimes afraid of the wind and waves, many times the fishermen will still enjoy it in the life of fishing. ivanwongflowingart.com

“There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of nature — the assurance that dawn comes after night, and spring after winter.” ~ Rachel Louise Carson

Nancy Natow-Cassidy

Cacophony, acrylic on canvas, 48" x 36"
Cacophony, acrylic on canvas, 48″ x 36″

While I often despair at the state of the world, I am filled with awe and wonder at the natural world. As a dancer and painter, I am literally moved by nature. My paintings are created when gestures express themselves with pigment. My mind stops racing, I breathe deeper, and my heart expands in the presence of light touching earth, sky, rocks, water and plants. I am grounded and at peace and equilibrium. nancynatowcassidy.com

“When I admire the wonders of a sunset or the beauty of the moon, my soul expands in the worship of the creator.”  ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Peter N. Van Giesen

Interconnected Aura, acrylic on canvas 24” x 32”
Interconnected Aura, acrylic on canvas 24” x 32”

I feel more spiritually alive when outside. Naturally, I am drawn to the mystery that is implicit in the natural world. Using paint, I create images based on the interplay between darkness and light, the interconnected aura of the natural world. When I paint it is if the veil of the common life is momentarily lifted allowing me to be embraced by the underlying essence of the universe. I attempt to reach into the fabric of the world exploring the dynamics of tension and elasticity. peternvangiesen.com

“If we surrendered to earth’s intelligence we could rise up rooted, like trees.“ ~ Rainer Maria Rilke

Roslyn Rose

Roslyn Rose, Sand Intrusion
Sand Intrusion, photographic montage, size varies

“Sand Intrusion” is an interpretation of the effects of Hurricane Sandy on a once perfect vacation scene. Will the warming of the climate produce images like this in the future? I created this work of art by digitally combining a vacant room with the sands of a New Jersey beach. It is from “A Different View” series, in which I have integrated the sea into abandoned rooms or incorporated buildings with the sea. The components of these photographic montages are made up of images taken in different countries and far flung coastlines.  roslynrose.com

Donna Secour

Rest, acrylic, 24" x 24"
Rest, acrylic, 24″ x 24″

Nature inspires me to paint. Nature in itself is the great healer, containing the most potent beauty. Flowers in particular inspire me for their translucency, purity of color, and how shadow can be the backdrop for luminosity. Trying to paint soothing scenes that people can rest in is the purest way that I can express the joy I feel in the natural world. donnasecour.com

“I never saw a discontented tree. They grip the ground as though they liked it,
and though fast rooted they travel about as far as we do.” ~ John Muir

Dick and Rosanne

Heart of the Matter, digital photography, 30" x 30"
Heart of the Matter, digital photography, 30″ x 30″

Aristotle has said: “In all things of nature is something of the marvelous”. We couldn’t agree more. We are inspired everyday by the beauty and complexity of nature’s creations. What better place to start our creations than building upon the myriad exquisite views surrounding us. Studying our natural environment, appreciating colors and patterns in things both large and small, led us to making mandala-like images. With a focus on nature, you find this is an incredible place to be. dickandrosanne.com

“The more clearly we can focus our attention on the wonders and realities of the universe about us, the less taste we shall have for destruction.” ~ Rachel Louise Carson

Dorit Brauer

Summer Rain Meditation, oil on canvas, 40" x 30"
Summer Rain Meditation, oil on canvas, 40″ x 30″

I love surrounding myself with the beauty of nature and then channel the peacefulness and positive energy into my paintings. Nature balances our souls and connects us to the essence of who we are. My abstract landscapes emphasize the connecting between Heaven and Earth and how one reflects the other. The ancient wisdom of Kabbalah studies metaphysical relations. In Hebrew, the word Nature (הטבע – HaTeva) has the same numerical value as the word God (אלה-ים – Elohim). Therefore, in nature we find the divine. doritbrauer.com

“Nature contains the elements, in color and form, of all pictures, as the keyboard contains the notes of all music. But the artist is born to pick and choose… as the musician gathers his notes, and forms his chords, until he brings forth from chaos, glorious harmony.” ~ James Abbot McNeill Whistler

“…and then, I have nature and art and poetry, and if that is not enough, what is enough?” ~ Vincent van Gogh

“Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts.” ~ Rachel Louise Carson

“Sunshine is delicious, rain is refreshing, wind braces us up, snow is exhilarating; there is really no such thing as bad weather, only different kinds of good weather.” ~ John Ruskin

“The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere where they can be quite alone with the heavens, nature and God… I firmly believe that nature brings solace in all troubles.” ~ Anne Frank

“The smallest flower is a thought, a life answering to some feature of the Great Whole, of whom they have a persistent intuition.” ~ Honore de Balzac

“The sun and the moon, the cedar and the little flower, the eagle and the sparrow: the spectacle of their countless diversities and inequalities tells us that no creature is self-sufficient. Creatures exist only in dependence on each other, to complete each other, in the service of each other.”  ~ Pope Francis in his book “Enclyclical on Climate Change & Inequality”

“Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.” ~ Albert Einstein
