The Healing Power of ART Exhibition
The Healing Power of ART Exhibition on the Manhattan Arts International website features images and artist’s statements by 43 artists from around the world.

The 10th Manhattan Arts International “The Healing Power of ART” 2015 online exhibition took place on the Manhattan Arts International website, from April 30 – June30, 2015. It  featured images and artist’s statements by 43 artists from around the world. In different visual forms, styles and mediums the artists either create art as a catalyst to heal others, themselves, or to raise awareness about important issues to increase the well-being of individuals and society.

Shown in the picture above are works of art by three exhibiting artists who also won Special Awards: Valerie Patterson’s painting “The Healing Garden”, winner of a Monetary Award; Bren Sibilsky’s sculpture “Fishers of Men”, which won a Monetary Award; and Joyce Huntington’s painting “Grace”, the recipient of the ArtsyShark Award.  There were a total of 18 Special Awards that included cash, publicity and promotion.

Valerie Patterson submitted this statement to the jurors: “This is one of the paintings I created during the past year, chronicling the emotional process through which my spouse and I have journeyed before and during her treatment for brain cancer in Boston, MA.”

Bren Sibilsky states: “Seeking wisdom through my artwork, I use expressions of nature while searching to understand our place in the universe, thus the meaning of our existence. l use stories of humankind, with empathy for the world we live in, to understand others, ourselves, and the laws of nature.” Sibilsky also submitted a poignant charcoal drawing of her father titled “Messenger’s Flight of the Soul” in his memory, which won an Artist Showcase Award.

Joyce Huntington sent this statement with her image entries: “I have dedicated myself to the Light. I paint the visions I have during meditation, or images that come when waking but mostly I paint the Light. Years ago I set my life goal- to use my art to bring feelings of healing and well being to others.”
